Due to the rainy weather of last week, this needs to be a big week. Since the lot isn't graded yet, and it's clay, it doesn't drain well - rain just sits on it. It's finally starting to set up a little bit - yesterday, I was finally able to walk in the back yard without my feet sinking into the mud up to my ankles.
This past weekend, I worked on burying conduit for the utility lines. Because I'm building retaining walls on the sides of the house, Consumer's and DTE wanted to run their lines through conduit. Easier said than done - I ended up digging 2 trenches 12' long, and 3' deep in wet clay. After 7 hours of digging on Saturday, I went home with (literally) bloody hands. Sunday, I bent and installed the conduit, and started filling in the trenches, and made some progress on the South retaining wall.
Today, we got two truckloads of sand hauled in to go under the driveway apron, sidewalks, and back patio. The drywall finisher did some sanding. The trim carpenter took some measurements. Overall, not much progress - we've got to kick it in the next four days in order to get back on schedule.
We'll see how tomorrow goes........
